My mind has calmed
Thoughts are more steady
My heart still flutters
So willing and ready.
I need you less
But I want you more
Infatuation it's not
Of that I'm sure.
You are more than a body
To hold close at night.
What you bring to my life
Is such powerful light.
I no longer feel empty,
Alone, and insecure.
You've shown me that self love
Fills my spirit at its core.
you are the light
That helps me see
all of the confidence and self -worth
That was inside of me.
You aren't fixing or saving
Me from myself
You are lighting the path
With wisdom and help.
You aren't my other half
That implies we aren't whole.
you are a compliment
to my newly emerging soul.
I've adjusted my thinking
No longer focused on the end.
Instead I'm enjoying the journey
Of becoming your friend.
